DIANNE SCHOENFELD GRANSTRA received her Master of Music Degree from the The Ohio State University and has worked in church music for over 25 years, and continues her studies at the University of Michigan and Trinity Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. She has taught voice and directed choirs in colleges, private and public elementary and middle schools. Dianne serves Trinity Lutheran as the Director of Music. Dianne lives with her husband, Bob and their animals: Mocha, Figaro, Pumpkin, and Wilbur. They love to spend time with their sons, their wives, and grandchildren.
ANDREA ALEXANDER hails from a family of musicians whose talents were nurtured in service to others. She has served the music ministries of CME, Episcopal, Presbyterian, United Methodist, Lutheran (ELCA & Missouri synods), and Catholic churches for over 20 years. Andrea believes that music is an emotional experience and if her gift can touch the life of another person, she has succeeded in mastering her calling. From pouring her soul into her music to being able to transform notes on a piece of paper into something meaningful for the listener - her passion lies in that artistic expression. Andrea is currently the Organ Scholar at First Presbyterian Church, Saginaw, and is involved in music ministries at Trinity Lutheran Church, Midland as Associate Director of Music, leading the Contemporary Praise singers and instrumentalists, Co-Directing Trinity Music Academy, an serving as Associate Organist. Andrea, lie all super heroes, has two identities: she is a chemist, and a musician. Andrea, formerly a chemist with Dow Corning, will soon be leaving us to pursue her career in chemistry with a company in Akron, Ohio. She has also served on the board of the Saginaw Valley Chapter of the American Guild of Organist as Secretary 2008 – 2013. Andrea is an Alumni of Michigan State University graduating with a B.S. in Chemistry. While at MSU, she also studied piano under Irma Svanadze.
MARIJEAN FITZGERALD has always had a passion for church music, even though her vocation has been teaching science in high school and college. In the fall of 1989 with the encouragement from choir friends, she organized the True Spirit Singers.
Since that time she has earned the Applied Sacred Music Certification offered by Delta College as well as obtained the Bishop's diploma in Church Music offered by the Leadership Program from the Commission of Liturgy and Music of the Episcopal Church. To help round out her church music experience, she has been taking organ lessons and now plays the organ part time for the 1st United Church of Christ in Bay City. She finds directing the True Spirit Singers spiritually and emotionally uplifting.
PATTI BOWEN has been the principal organist at Trinity since 1989. Her responsibilities include playing for the Traditional Sunday Service, Midweek Services, Weddings, Funerals, and accompanying the Chancel Choir. She as Bachelor's Degree in Music Eduction and Organ from Anderson University, Anderson, Indiana and holds a Master's Degree in Organ Performance (church music concentration) from Central Michigan University. Patti taught Public School Elementary Music for 28 years and retired in 2006. She has been actively involved with the American Guild of Organists, serving two terms as Dean and several terms as a Member-at-Large. She has also been on the staff of Trinity's Summer Music Programs, Joyful Jubilee and Music Exploration, introducing the Pipe Organ to all attendees and offering free organ lessons to interested students during the four day camps. In addition to her church duties, Patti teaches organ and piano privately, enjoys gardening and walking her two Brussels Griffons.
NOREEN ABKE has served in church music for over 50 years and currently accompanies the 5:00pm Service on the Sanctuary's Kawai Grand.
Julie Hyatt is a 25+year elementary teacher in the Midland Public Schools. Her special gift with children, and her excellent musicianship team to make her an outstanding asset to our musical staff. Julie Co-Directs the Trinity Music Academy, and serves in multiple music groups at Trinity, as well as serves as the volunteer handbell librarian.
Nicki Bruski is the Dow High School Band Director and is on staff at Trinity as the True Spirit Singers’ accompanist. Nicki is an excellent pianist, and flutist.
